Eight-Grade Syndrome is one of my best attempts at an outright rock song. I tried to keep it from being too conventional because there are a lot of tracks like this one on the album, hence the weird dobro plucking sounds. My only regret on this one is using GarageBand samples for the DJ scratching sound on one of the verses… it’d have been much cooler to have used clips from shows or something but I don’t have the equipment to make those sorts of record scraping sounds.
